Can anyone tell me what kind of snail this is?

I found a few of these about 20 feet from the shore in destin floridas ocean bed. I was catching molley miller blennies at the jetties and caught some of these guys too in the sand. i put them in my tank ( I know not the brightest move) to move the sand around seeing as how they are diggers. Any clues as to what they are? heres some pics in my gallery!

They kind of look like queen conchs, the heads but not the shells. Can you take a better picture close up?

Melev's Reef - Visual Identification check out the snails on his site and see which ones look like your snail..

Its hard for me to tell in the picture.

The shell looks like some kind of conch but it is hard to tell for sure.

i got 2 more pictures of him, these are fairly clear, his shells about 3 inches long

it's an olive snail

Cool glad you found out what kind it was. Have you read whether it is a good or bad snail?

Yup its an olive snail, one source says they're peaceful and feed on detritus and planktonic life.
