I have a feather duster whose "feathers" reached about 3.5 inches. About 2 weeks ago they started cracking off. now they are all about 3/4 inch. Is it dying? or were the "feathers" just too long and will continue growing?
any thoughts?

If the feather duster is still opening and out of it's tube, you are fine. Is there anything in your tank that could be nipping at it?

Sometimes feather duster will throw the feathers when their stressed. But that leaves completely without feathers.
I think yours may have just give itself a hair cut.
