FAMILY - Serranidae

SCIENTIFIC NAME - Pseudanthias Pieurotaenia

COMMON NAME - Squarespot Anthias (Squareblock Anthias, Squareback Anthias)

SIZE - 7.9" (20 cm)

RANGE - Western and South Pacific

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 70 US Gal. (265 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING - Varied finely chopped marine meaty fare for zooplankton feeders, mysid shrimp, vitamin enriched brine shrimp. Feed at least 3 times a day

AQUARIUM SUITABILITY - 6

REEF COMPATIBILITY - yes, however, does not adapt well to intense lighting

CAPTIVE CARE - Larger tanks with plenty of hiding places a plus, slow to acclimate, tendency to hide while acclimating, keep singly if tank is 135 US Gal. (511 L) or smaller, if larger one male and six or more females can be housed together, may be aggressive with other zooplankton feeders
