Skimmer Articles
Here are a couple of my favorite skimmer articles... Neither push a certain type or model, just go into details about what can and cannot be removed from the water by a skimmer and how that happens.
Not to technical http://www.reefland.com/rho/0505/medprod4.php Gets pretty deep into the science of it http://web.archive.org/web/200304150...skimmers2.html I would be interested to get peoples opinions on overskimming etc. I personally have always had atleast a skimmer rated for 3x my tank.. just trying to get a conversation rolling while posting some good links. Re: Skimmer Articles
this is the best skimmer on earth, you dont need 3x when double does just as good. besides gallon ratings are whatever the company wants them to be. they really mean nothing. My seaclone is capable of running a 500 gallon system if its just got salt water in it and nothing else. Just alittle something to get ya riled up big boy, with your 5 million gallon skimmer. Mine is still gonna be better once its broke in! dont cry when you see these pics.

Re: Skimmer Articles
Don't turn my attempt to have a serious discussion into another one of those threads........
But in response to "dont cry when you see these pics" were you refering to the empty collection cup? Everyone needs to have a vision of their goal so they can someday achieve it, so here you go..... HEHE man i'm just kidding the new skimmer looks nice, and that thing is alot bigger than I would have expected also. BTW sending you a PM. Re: Skimmer Articles
leave it to brandon to buy milk in a pink wrapper! That is some pretty tallented photoshopping on that skimmer pic. I could have sworn your skimmer wasnt 6 ft tall like the pic shows it!!! and did you go to the trouble to fill your collection cup with sweet tea just for the pic. My water is so clean my skimmer doesnt have any crap to pull out of the tank right now!!
