zoanthids and peppermint shrimp

Do zoanthids and peppermint shrimp mix at all? The latter is considered reef safe, but watching him harassing my zoanthids, I wonder if this is fully true. My first small colony of zoanthids didn't make it. I don't want to blame it on the pod in question, but he is displaying a behavior that concerns me: he's very interested in the zoanthids, and even though apparently "just" cleaning around, he still bites them with his little pincers, scaring them enough to close.

can be problematic if the colony is very small. I have pepermint shrimp and emerald crabs and cannot keep zoe's in my system. good luck. believe what you see and go from there.

Maybe your peppermints are really hungry or confusing zoas for aiptasia.I have 12 peppermints and they don't bother the zoas.Anything that touches zoas will make them close.
