acans

can acans be kept successfully with a small koran angel with PC's since they require low light

Re: acans

Maybe, maybe not. It's hit or miss depending on the fish.

Re: acans

i think ill try docs method and put it in there at lights out. im more concerned about the lights but since they are like the candy canes they should be fine close to the surface, im hoping, if not i can just frag and sell

Re: acans

Im not sure were you got the low light idea? Acans will do well in most lighting, but mine do best under metal halides, and mid tank. They will do fine under PCs, but just letting you know higher light isnt an issue for you. I wouldnt sit them 6" under 400 watt halides, but in general they are fine with whatever light you have.
As for the koran, and with any angel, you are fine till they get a taste of coral, then its doen hill quickly. best advice is feed well and often.

Re: acans

hey man, I know this is off topic. but do you visit capacino bay? Im interested in how the store looks? I used to make trips there from chattanooga. The last several times Ive been there it just wasnt the same old capacino bay. I dont even want to spend the gas to go anymore.

Re: acans

i do shop at cap bay and only cap bay because its nice and close and its priced the same as liveaquaria on most items, and i would go to marine fish and reef off of johnsons ferry road but they are way too over priced, for example they had a small pair of black and white clowns for 70 bucks a clown fish. but cap is very nice for live stock. otherwise go somewhere else for dry stock because there selection is minimal. but i love cap bay. i could spend all day there just looking and talking to the lady that works there (i think shes the manager, dont know her name) and after only being there three times, she remembers me and my mom and my exact tank setup and all my livestock. i cant compare it to what it used to be since i have only seen it as it is now, but i think its great right now

Re: acans

I will have to check it out again when I come down for MACNA. I havent been to capacino bay in months. For several years they were the Best of the Best. I could spend all day there and still not take it all in. but the last several times I went in it looked like someone had poisoned 3/4 of there tanks, they were all empty and hadnt been taken care of in awhile. Things had really gone down hill fast. there were several other locals who said the same thing. We used to make trips there regularly. Maybe it has come back? Hope so!

Re: acans

i think it has, all there tanks are filled and thriving. never seen a dead or sick fish in the tank. the only bad thing i would say about that places is some of there coral tanks on the floor are not for sale tanks that they use just for growing out frags. and everytime i go there i find another display tank i hadnt noticed before. and their huge display tank is amazing with huge fish that are all atleast as thick as your fist
