I'm in the process of researching on how to build a sump and can not find how they hold the acrylic together was thinking of using super glue and silicone but wanted to make sure before doing so. Any ideas or tips would help

You will want to use a thickened cement specifically for acrylic. I do not have a name available but use a cement that is made for the acrylic material.

I just built my sump in another aquarium below the main aquarium and went to lowes and had them cut acrylic squares out to the tanks size. Cheap.
