Could I build one based on your plans and use a small power head to feed the line and have the return line on the other side of the tank? Just so the tube is at a slight preassure.

Yep.... I used a Rio 600 had to get a little creative at the hardware store to hook it up to the plumbing, but it can be done.

I was at the new menards by my house yesterday and saw 1/4 inch polyethylene tubing in 100 foot rolls for like 6 bucks!!!!
Just wanted to lety ou guys know since I have usually seen it in 25 foot rolls for 2 bucks

THanks for the information..

For those that don't have a Menards.. Lowes and Homedepot also sell it by the foot for 7 cents. Thats where I got my 75 feet from.

I know this is a little off topic but I have been wondering this and since it has to do with the denitrator, i figure I'd put it here

What do the nitrates get broken down into after going through the denitrator?
Nitrogen gass that is disolved in the water? or do the bacteria just consume it and use it for energy?

nitrogen gas.

Example... ever see the bubbles coming up out of a deep sand bed? thats nitrogen bubbles.
