Re: Help my Powder brown...

Sorry for your loss.

I feel really bad mentioning in an earlier post that the PB didn't look quite right. My guess, the move to the new tank was stressful for Maynard, opening the door to an infection(secondary) she was carrying but not affecting her.It never looked like Ich to me,more like fin rot(bacterial).

I hope Captain Kirk never gets it.

Re: Help my Powder brown...

Thanks everyone! I'm pretty bummed about it. The second I saw Maynard at the LFS, I put him on hold for me. I called the women to let her know I was bringing him home, and she was cool with it. He would have been coming home with me even if she wasn't though! He was WAY too cool to leave there! But...we still have the rest of our fish, and they are all healthy, and eating well. I'm really bummed about Maynard...but....I'm REALLY glad that it was just him.

So...it's on to bigger and better things for our tank at this point. And there is no doubt, I'll have another Maynard. I just want to get our tank squared away first! And on that note, I'm looking into an order of 50lbs of LR. I'm hoping to get the 50lbs, and a good skimmer, and then give the wallet a break on the tank for a couple weeks! haha.

Thanks again everyone! For your help, and sympathy. This is a great forum, and I'm glad I found it!

Re: Help my Powder brown...

if you order the rock it will come uncured and you cant put that in your tank since you have fish in there because the rock will cause another cycle, you can only put either dead rock or cured live rock in your tank at this point

Re: Help my Powder brown...

Yea, the rock comes pre-cured. But I planned to put it in a 35 gallon barrel with a power head, for a few days.

Re: Help my Powder brown...

Sorry about your fish. But I must say you have the right idea of getting your tank more stable before getting another. the LR and skimmer will help a lot.

Re: Help my Powder brown...

sorry about the loss, and that should work with the LR but if you wanna save some money you can buy dry rock for about 1 dollar a pound and you can put it right in your tank when you get it
