Thanks for all the advice. I think you guys are right and I am not going to touch that brace without knowing exactly how much pressure it exerts on the glass. I don't think all glass will want to give up that info either. I was considering either taking the lights back and getting a differant kind or maybe trying some reflecters to brighten it up some.

I also read up on trapping and was going to use a clear plexiglass tube to try and trap the damsels. I can't believe I never thought of fishing for the fish before Makes sense and sounds easy too.

I think Bifferwine also gave me the idea of building a cabinet next to my tank for all the mechanical stuff. That way I won't have problems fitting in a proper skimmer.

Thanks again. You guys are really helping me in the right direction. I had thought I had found a good LFS but now think I should shop around for a differant one.
