coral banded shrimp

my damb coral banded killed my arrow crab. i have seen them fight more than a couple of times but couls never get the crab out. once something does in my tank it is there until it dies. i wanted the arrow crab out because it killed two purple firefish not 20 min after i added them to the tank the arrow crab was walking aroud with the firefish in its claws. i guess i just never thought that the shrimp would kill the crab. but i am kind of glad now i can get some new firefish.

Re: coral banded shrimp

Just keep in mind that the coral banded shrimp can and will kill fish if given the chance.

Re: coral banded shrimp

Yep. Coral bandeds have a reputation as fish killers too. They are no better than arrow crabs.

Re: coral banded shrimp

I had a coral banded that lived with a dragon eel. It would clean the inside of the eels mouth after the eel fed. The shrimp waited under the wrong rock ledge at the wrong time though as he was crushed pretty bad (well maybe dead is more than pretty bad). The eel was bad about enlarging his lair as he grew. I watched it happen, seemingly in slow motion.
