fragging a nem

when you frag a nem do you just cut it in the middle of the mouth thing of it with scissors or a razor blade then just put it back in the tank? i hope that makes sense

Re: fragging a nem

i dont know if i would do that you would have a very good chance of killing it and wiping out your whole tank. nems usually split when they are in trouble since it is a better chance or one of them living insted or it dying.

Re: fragging a nem

You don't frag anemones. You let them split on their own.

Re: fragging a nem

Are you sure they're fragging anemones and not mushroom anemones or other types of corals? Mushrooms are sometimes referred to as mushroom anemones.

I know that some people have tried fragging anemones by cutting them straight down the middle of the mouth with a blade, but the risk of killing the anemone is very high when you do this. Which is why most people just leave the anemones alone and let them split on their own.

Oh and my nem fragged itself when it got sucked into a powerhead, so you can do it that way, i believe its just more unhealthy for them.
