is this a sponge?

at first i thought it was purple coraline, but after we looked closer we realized it was something else. they each have a little spout like a tunicate has.

you can see one of the spouts in the lower right.

the sissel sponges such as the one you inquire about are good water cleaners, they move quite a lot of water thru their filtration system removing minute bits of food items that would otherwise pollute.

hey they are sponges i have pink ones and white ones and light blue ones all over my rock but it seems that the color one are in well light places and the white ones are in the shade. is this normal?
