wavemaker

has anyone ever tried these little switching wavemakers? Switching Current Water Director (SCWD)

how well do they work? are they bad to stick or clog? are they a gimmick?
i'm thinking about putting one on my sump return.

Re: wavemaker

Sorry,I seen them for sale but never heard anything positive or negative about them.I'm waiting on Hydor to release one for their Koralias pumps.I read on other forums that one is coming out this winter.

Re: wavemaker

I have never used one: I recall reading somewhere that they work, but the cost of no external controlling mechanism is an overall loss of flow - not sure how much or if this would be an issue for you.

Re: wavemaker

I used one. They cut down on the flow obviously, but work well. I use a seio controller and hydors now. I'd consider the polario that's coming out if I was going to do it now.

Re: wavemaker

how bad do they cut it down? I was wondering because my pump is more than I need anyway. I could just crank it up a little more if it would help.
what's the polario? is it the wavemaker for the korilia's?
