AquaC Remora w/ pre-skimmer concern?

The preskimmer box that holds the maxi-jet has the little holes that the water is supposed to go through. However the way I have it setup (which I don't see another way of doing it) is that these holes are at the extreme top of my aquarium. Practically making it so that the water is almost touching the top glass. Is this right? It seems like it is risky of overflow when I am doing stuff to have it that close to the top within 1/4 an inch.

Yep, that's how high the water levels usually are.

Re: AquaC Remora w/ pre-skimmer concern?

now the instructions say that it will run louder than usual for 1-2 weeks. My loudness seems to be coming from my maxi-jet 1200 inside the preskimmer and not so much the aquaC itself. The instructions on installing the maxi-jet into the preskimmer are very vague. They just say that it is not built for the venturi so I assumed I just put the basic setup in there without the tube and venturi part. I read that the maxi-jet has a silencer. I don't know which part this is however.
