Re: when looking for bulbs

The K will tell you how "blue" the light looks, lower K ratings being yellow and higher K levels being bluer.

Generally, the colors of coral will POP at higher K ratings. But coral growth isn't as fast at higher K ratings.

People that are only interested in propagating corals and not how they look generally use 6500 K bulbs, but the corals will look pretty bad under those. 10K are a good, standard bulb and most fixtures that come with bulbs included come with 10Ks. 14K makes for the best color (I think), but again, corals won't grow as well under a 14K as a 10K. 20K is super super blue, and is too blue for me and just doesn't look good.

I see you already got the light fixture and bulbs.Biff has covered what kelvin rating looks like and what's best for coral growth.
