Thought I would give you all an update I did that mod to the skimmer and it worked pretty good I think I have about and inch of BLACK crap in the cup after 2 days. With only the lion and decorator crab and the long spine I think that is acceptable. Next step is to move the pump closer to the surface of the water.

The closer you get the intake to the water surface,the better that skimmer will work.
