octopus bh-300f - update

Well, the pumps have been running since I set up the skimmer without problems. Octopus has a new pair on its way to me, so I'll have spares anyways. The skimmer seems to be working well, is pretty quiet considering there are two pumps in there. Now in comparasion to the aqua c remora pro, the aqua c seems to pull out alot more gunk than the octopus, however we are talking about a 10 mth old reef with 4 fish vs a one month old tank thats only had two fish for a week. The octopus is pulling the gunk out, no doubt, its just alot less and alot lighter colour.

Finally, the last chamber on the octopus fills from the bottom, and empties into the tank from the top. this chamber is about 3"x3" and 10" high. I'm wondering if it would work for running charcoal/phosguard through. Maybe even stuff it full of cheato?

Thanks for the update MOB. I wouldnt mess with the empty chamber any backpressure will make it hard to adjust IMO. Try it if you want though
