Re: Lighting - AquaMedic, PFO, Coralife
Thanks for the update. keep us posted on your progress. I have my photoperiod to run with 1st mh on at 10am, 2nd on at 11am, third on at 12pm, 1st off at 4pm, 2nd off at 5pm, and third off at 6pm, naturally i have four other compact fixtures that ramp up before and ramp down after the mh. for a total of a 14 hr. photo period, and lastely moon light system. each must set their own photoperiod depending on what you are trying to do. others will have some thoughts im sure.

Ok...the light is working great...so great...the whole tank has turned brown from diatom blooms...I want to keep the lights on (I am reducing the photo period), any suggestionsto reduce the diatom/brown algae?

Check your phosphate and nitrates and make sure you have plenty of water flow.
Those are the first things I would check. Current Aquarium(s) Description: 92 Gallon Corner, 77 degrees, 800 watts, MR-2R Skimmer, MRC Nilsen, Tunze Stream, Aqua Cont Jr. Experience in Saltwater & Reef Aquarium Hobby: 6 years |
