Max water height

Just got my octopus nw-150 and man is it big. I just couldnt imagine it being as big as it is. blows away that proclear thing i thought would be suffecient. My question is my skimmer is sitting in a sump on about 12in of water. Is that too much. seems kinda high for the skimmer. So i tried googleing it and even searched here. Does anyone know the water height for this thing?

Re: Max water height

I read somewhere that all octopus models work best in 8-10 inchs of water.
