Running Lights
How long should I run the lights for one day in my 12g aquapod?
My temperature is running at about 78. Is this too high? How can I get it to come down? Current Aquarium(s) Description: 12g Aquapod Experience in Saltwater & Reef Aquarium Hobby: Less than a year Other Intrests: Soccer and Computers |

Re: Running Lights
78 definetly isnt to high. your getting to high when your hitting 82-84ish. How long you run your lights depends on what your keeping in there. If its softied your good with 6-8, if your keeping lps you may want to do a little more. I wouldnt put any SPS in there.

Re: Running Lights
Most people run their lights 12 hours a day. But anywhere around 8 is fine. And like cgoodman said, your temps aren't too high. 78 is just right.

Re: Running Lights
you could probably even bump it up to the 79-81 range and be just fine, the problem with temperature is more about how much it fluctuates over a 24 hour period. you dont really want it to move up or down more then a degree in a day

Re: Running Lights
Like cgoodman, my tank runs hot, around 83 to 84 every day. I just can't afford a chiller, but it stays a stable hot, at least!
