How long has it been since you switch light?Certainly switching from say PC to MH will make corals bleach and coralline too.The type of coralline you have may not be able to survive with intense lighting...some will, some won't.Acclimating the corals with some window screen or something similar would help them adapt to the new lights.I agree, stop dosing Purple Up,there is no need.

Re: Metal Hallide Hight Above Tank?

I didn't acclimate anything to the lights. At the time of the switch I didn't have a lot of coral. Some zoos, pulsating zenias, a carpet anenome for maroon clown, and 3 leathers. The only thing that lived was the carpet anenome that sits on the bottom right of the tank. He is now white but alive. everything else turned white and died including my rock. and the coraline algea on the back glass and my powerheads even turned white. I put the lights like bifferwine said. Its only been about a week but the rocks are looking better. Thanks to all you guys advice.

Re: Metal Hallide Hight Above Tank?

I would say it was a rookie mistake, but Ive been doing this for about 5 years or so. I guess I can say I am a Metal Halide rookie (yehhhhh, thats the ticket,Iam a MH rookie). I have to admit I was not thinking and let the idea of having MH make me do bad things (hahaha).
