oops!

OK I just bought a Prizm Pro Deluxe skimmer, and when I opened it I thought wow this is a big skimmer. I didnt so enough research and kinda needed a skimmer right away. Now Im hearing all bad things about the Prizm. I paid $170 for the damn thing, just a big waste of money or what? Any advice?
live about 2 hours from where I bought it so probably wont be taking it back.

Re: oops!

Wow you paid a lot. Check out Marine Depot, Champion Lighting and Drs. Foster and Smith -- I think I saw the Deluxe on sale for $100 on one of those sites (I posted it in another thread, someone else was asking about the Prizm).

The Prizm will do okay, to a point. If you have a lot of fish or keep inverts I would recommend getting a different one. The Aqua C Remora Pro is definitely the best hang-on-back skimmer out there. I had a Prizm for about six months when my tank was fish-only, but couldn't quite get the job done when I added a couple shrimp and some snails.
