? about Maxi Jet powerhead

I just received my Maxi Jet 1200 but some of the directions are missing.

Do I need to use the "pre filter grip or the "undergravel filter adapter"? Logically it makes since that since I am not using and undergravel filter, I should use the pre filter grid, right?

Also do I need to attach the air tube?

I have another smaller powerhead on the top left of my aquarium. Where should I install this one?

Also the venturi flow deflector keeps flying off in my tank! What's up with that???

Thanks!

Re: ? about Maxi Jet powerhead

leave the air tube off. it will cause tons of microbubbles. it should have a small plastic cap with it to block off the hole.

it's a matter of persnal preference on which screen to use. i personally use the short one because it takes up less room.

to really kick up some good random turbulence place both powerheads close to the top and aim them at each other. this has allways worked well for me

as far as the deflector blowing off, i haven't a clue. mine have allways stayed on.

Ok I am a goofball. I didn't have the deflector snapped on all the way.

Thanks fishbait!
