mantis shrimp alert!
i would like to know how to get rid of mantis shrimp. i recently spotted it
crawling on my live rocks after having the live rock in my tanks for almost 6 weeks. i suspect he's the one who murdered my skunk shrimp. |

Re: mantis shrimp alert!
If you can tell which rock he retreats into, pull that rock out. Put it in a
bucket with tank water, and pour in carbonated water. It will remove the oxygen from the water and the mantis will shoot out of the rock. Put the rock back in your tank. The mantis will be in the bucket. I will have to remember that. Would it work on a bristle worm too? -- Remember, wherever you go, there you are. |

Re: mantis shrimp alert!
Don't get rid of your bristle worms. They take care of so much garbage. I
have them in my sand and in my rocks. We had a shrimp croak during molting and the worms had it gone by the next morning. Which was great because I would had to move 90 lbs of live rock to get it out. It is funny how some companies tell you how to remove them from your live rock and selling traps you have other companies selling the bristle worms. Re: mantis shrimp alert!
Bristleworms are good, not ememies. Let them do what they do naturally and
consume detritus and rotting decaying matter. Marc Adira wrote: > ohh that's clever. I will have to remember that.
