Not happy with Florida Aqua Farms?

Am I just unlucky with them, or are they really messed up?
What is your experience with this company?

Not for the first time I have problems with my order...
Last time macro algae I ordered arrived almost dead.
This time they did not have all stuff what I ordered
so without contacting me they cut down my order and
shipped what they had... About 40% of ordered stuff...
Also, the invoice was messed up and did not match the
content of the box...
They explained the were short on specific types of
algae I've ordered and also explained that one algae
disk labeled as tetraselmis might be nanochloropsis
labeled wrong by mistake. I wonder now, how sure can
I be if I am getting right stuff if mistakes like that
can happen?
And, to complete my order I need to order from somewhere
else and pay expensive "live" shipping charge again...

Do you know some alternative place to order live
microalgae and other aquaculture stuff??
I am disapointed with FAF and I would not like to
order from them again if there is some other place.

Re: Not happy with Florida Aqua Farms?

I've ordered from FAF several times, without any notable incident.

They are a little odd, because when I placed my first order, I had no idea what
it cost me until it arrived at my door one week later.

Other orders I just got an estimate of cost, but the invoice was in the box so I
knew for sure. I prefer to call rather than use their webpage to place my
orders though.

What about BrineShrimpDirect? They seem to have a number of other items.

Re: Not happy with Florida Aqua Farms?

Maybe just unlucky, I have ordered from them numerous times and have never had
any issues. But I haven't ordered anything in the last year or so and always
used the phone to place the order. Maybe this makes a difference - dunno.

I have also used Brineshrimpdirect and aquaticecosystems as well without
problems.

James

General aquaculture stuff: algae disks, algae food mix, sieves,
rotifers, cultured macroalgae, parafilms to cover culture containers.
Things like that - hard to list all stuff but you have the idea...

Re: Not happy with Florida Aqua Farms?

Not that your filters will let you read this, but when Marc taught me
(Tiffany) how to aquaculture live plankton, that is where I ordered 100% of
my product from. Communication was poor, but delivery was right on 100%. I
have since ordered about $1k worth of other items... all to arrive just as
planned, but with poor communication such as tracking info etc.
