Gil had the scars, right? I believe that is a Morish Idol... but I do get those
mixed up. As a kid we called them Flag fish or Banner fish, because of the
white flag flowing at the top.

There are two kinds, one that is reef safe and one that is not. I'd love to get
2 or 3 of the reef save ones for my 55g, but I think that tank is maxed out.

moorish idol is hard to keep and probably not reef safe, since they eat the
stuff on the reef. a jack knife fish looks a lot like a moorish idol, but i
don't know it's suitability offhand.

Gil is a Moorish Idol butterfly, like marc said. Neither of them are reef
safe, but you can get the "cheap mans'" moorish idol, the black&white
heniochus butterfly, also called a banner fish, which looks similar. (check
the links below) I work in a LFS and whenever I order a moorish idol they
send me a b/w heniochus instead because of the ease of keeping them, and the
high DOA rate on the moorish idols. They don't take the travel very well..

moorish:

bannerfish:

If you ask me, the Moorish Idol is a way nicer looking fish.

Thanks for posting that, John!

There is a guy on ReefCentral with a 850g reef tank with a few of those
Heniochus, and they look very happy to be in there. My 55g simply is too small
for more fish at this point.
