Animal Advocates Want NY Reptile Museum Closed

Deplorable conditions; sick turtles, snakes and lizards; lack of proper
food, heat and lighting; and overcrowding are just some of the complaints
that have plagued the Long Island Reptile museum since its opening in 1995.

it would seem to me that most "animal adocates", at least the one's
i've seen, would prefer that the mass populace of this world go about
their lives in complete ignorance of the animals that share this
planet. what good is it to me to know that there are interesting and
wonderful creatures out there if i can not see them for myself, and
yes, keep one or two of them as well.

i agree with cat on this one. if you don't want to be a solution to
the problem then get out of the way, because we have plenty enough of
them with out nosey nancy's twisting their privates into knots
everytime an animal suffers. solve it and move on brother. closing the
museum down would just help foster the kind of ignorance that let it
wind up in such a nasty state in the first place. if it's even true.
i find that eco nuts usally blow things way out of proportion anyway.

hey i have no prob with protecting the environment and its animal
inhabitants, but removing us from their's, and they from our's is a
stupid way to try and go about it.

Heh, I think the so-called "animal rights" people just like to find
something to complain about. I'm an "animal rights" person too, but I'd
rather volunteer to help an animal in distress rather than stare at it and
whine.

Re: Animal Advocates Want NY Reptile Museum Closed

By the way -

STEVE KATES, owner of the LI Reptile Musuem is a THIEF!!!!!!

Under no circumstances should you ever deal with
this person. Avoid at all costs. Here is my story:

I placed 30 arcade games in a room at the Long Island Reptile Museum.
After 4 months it was evident that the place was not making money and
I decided to remove my machines. Steve Kates called the police and
attempted to say the games were his and that he bought them from me!

I showed the Police the serial numbers and my reciept from buying them
myself. They would not help out saying I had to take him to
court!

On the side the police told me I should show up when Steve wasn't
there and remove my games. They said it is not tresspassing since I
pay some form of rent. Well that is how my Christmas morning was spent
- commando raiding my games.

I managed to get lucky and get my stuff back incident free and I have
learned some valuable lessons.

Let this serve as a warning to you all to avoid STEVE KATES and the
LONG ISLAND REPTILE MUSUEM.
