The coralife is a nice skimmer.I have one that works very good, pulls alot of dark skimmate. The skimmer you have seems to be doing good now so you might be able to keep it for now. When your bioload increases and the skimmer cant keep up than maybe think about a replacement

Today I carried out a water sample check and here are the results:

Ammonia: 0.25 (came down)
Nitrite: 0.50
Nitrate: 5.0 (came down)
pH: 8.2 (went up)
Temp: 80F (has remained constant)
S.G.: 1.024

I changed approx 3gals of water after conducting the tests, and added some calcium. As for the skimmer problem, I think that it was due to the ammount of debris in the water from placing the live rock on saturday. I will make-do with my current skimmer for now, at least until I get some fishies!

I dont think you will need to add any additives yet to your tank.Yould be able to get all the calcium, and other from water changes for now

Stability by seachom should help all around for your tank.seeds and if you still have the damsel ,help him as well (stress)(new tank syndrom). If I were you I wouldnt add any additives inless the tank tells you to.You also could use a nitrate sponge to help drop those nitrates.
