As others said, put them low in the tank. I had over eleven purple mushrooms. Only one survived (now there are two) because it took a while to accept that they should be near the bottom. They are now in a spot that is shaded.

Start at the bottom, and leave them there for at least a week before you move them again. They will expand to absorb light, so if they are getting too much light, they will shrivel up and close (kinda like you squinting your eyes in the sun).

Yes,the less light the more they expand.

Low flow,near the bottom or shaded will help them expand better.

Those look like green fuzzy mushrooms that are getting too much light and bleaching.

These are low in the tank.
