Re: what's your job?

Heres the deal. Without an income tax the nation would basically fall apart. Infrastructure would fail and we wouldnt be able to afford to defend our selves, there are some serious overspending problems but it is a necessary evil. Sales tax on the other hand is another story. We should only be taxed once on our money. But then how would the local government raise its funds. Vicious circle.

Question is, should the Gov't have all the programs that they spend our hard earned money on? The other question I have is why do we have such a short memory and keep voting in those who liberally spend our money?

I am not sure if I posted in this thread yet, but currently I work in a hospital as a Secretary and I'm a full time pre-med student. I plan to go to medical school after I get a Master's Degree.

Re: what's your job?

Thought it was something completely out of the ordinary that one of your other interests was dog food nutrition.

Re: what's your job?

I'm a VP of a small Commercial Landscape Contractor in San Francisco - specializing in office buildings, public plazas, urban open spaces. We do some installation work, have been known to get involved in wetland restoration. Almost all our work is centered in San Francisco - all 49 square miles of it. Considering the City of San Francisco is, by nature, a tree-less place, (prior to white man's arrival, the entire city was a wind-swept sand dune), it's a challenge making the city lush & green (not unlike the challenges associated with bringing tropical reefs into our homes). A great job, albeit challenging and not without it's stresses.
