a strange freshwater..fishy eely thing

His name is Chomper this fishy eely thing. Now he lives with three black shirt tetras, two corydora catfish(an albino named Kaspar, and one with a black tipped dorsal and eyeband named Kitty), and one Chinese algae eater. He has lived with them all of his lfe, and seems fairly peaceful.

I used to worry a lot about him being in there; you see he was sold to my little sister/father(she wanted it he bought it) as a "loach" he doesn't seem to be a loach at all.

I have been trying to figure out forever and ever what in the world he is. He seems to have teeth, but has never attacked most of the fish. I do know that he does eatdead fish, and fish that fall to the bottom in illness are preyed on, but he doesn't actively hunt them from what I have seen.

He isn't even territorial from what I have observed. He can be very shy, but if he is used to seeing you he doesn't bolt. The corydoras don't seem bothered by him in the least, and the little algae eater(he is sort of runty for an algae eater) is always hiding.

I was wondering if anyone here had freshwater experience and could tell me what in the heck he is. He looks sort of like some species of dragon fish, but I'm not sure. I have even considered that he might be a loach, but haven't found an image that matches his appearance..

If anyone can help me out, please do. I'd like to know what the heck Chomper is, so I can learn more about his species.

Also, I believe he may be a dragon goby, but if anyone could confirm this, it'd be great

Re: a strange freshwater..fishy eely thing

Thank you jcegt. That is what Chomper looks like; a terrible, ferocious beast. Thankfully, though, he is anything but ferocious. He looks kinda silvery brown most of the time, I think, but when you get close I'd swear he had some pinkish in his big fins behind his head . Thanks everyone.
