Dirty, dirty fish. Poop, poop, poop, that is all they do!
I will do FOWLR, or coral only tanks with sand bed critters. I use a rotating Copper Band Butterfly and I have within the last couple of years kept Gobies with coral.
My preference is all SPS Mother coloy display tanks, and I can not see having that amount of time and money jeopardized for fish.
I in do like predator fish, and favor lion fish, eels and Clown Trigger fish. These are definately not coral tank fish. They all eat to much and therefore poop to much, and a clown will often eat every thing it can.

Experience in Saltwater & Reef Aquarium Hobby: 35 years in marine aquarium trade and managing LFS's, 10 years with coral.
Other Intrests: Coral Propagation, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Cabinetry, and Reef Systems Development

Re: Dream tank

wow fatman, that would be some tank.

For me tho, its all about fish and the activities & entertainment they provide in the tank. Without the fish i think it would be hella boring.

Re: Dream tank

With a system that large I think I would add a few fish. That is a secret though, do not tell anyone, as that could blemish my sterling reputation. I find coral spell binding, in genearl I find fish as stupid and seldom entertainling. I do like their flashes of moving color. For entertainment I like Coral Banded Shrimp and feeding predator fish, but predators make lousy tank companions for coral (too dirty).

Re: Dream tank

then why dont you say your dream tank consists of two large DT's one being coral and the other being a predator tank and they are all somehow running on the same system to justify it being a dream tank instead of two dream tanks

I would say Corals are my dreams and marine fish are an idle fascination. Unfortunately, I have too little idle time.

Hey that guy could have been my brother or some thing, except for those Tangs in the mother colony tank. Him I have got to try to contact. Hell, he even looks a lot like me. But I wear black rimmed glasses and no hats. Since profession, same fasination for SPS fragging. Hell, my Dad said he was in Korea not Portugal!
