Re: Dream tank

Seriously, everyones dream tank would be 1,000g+, but think about the cost and taking care of a 1,000g tank. But I almost forgot about the basis of this thread, a "dream" tank.

For me, 125 gallon Dominated SPS tank but be "ideal" and a "dream".

Re: Dream tank

my dream tank is not so much about the size its more about how its put together and where the tank is located. If i had a choice i would want something around 400gal built in the wall with its own back room for equipment, etc. ideally the back room to be big enough to have at least a 200 gal sump.

Man that would be sweet.

Re: Dream tank

I would love a tank of about 900 gallons. Say 8 foot long, 5 foot wide and 3 foot deep. Built in with a basement room of about 12 foot by 16 foot below the built in tank. A simple 4 foot deep by 12 foot long room behind tank would suffice with an air to air heatexchanger venting the space over the aquarium. In the basement I would like about a 210 gallon refugium and a 1000 gallon plastic water tank for a bulk sump. A seperate 40 gallon breeder skimmer tank with two large multi pump needle wheel skimmers. No inductors, no air injection, but lots, and lots of high velocity high flow circulation. Four 10000K 400 watt halides should suffice for main lighting with eight 4 foot T-5's actinic for supplementation. Hopefully, no chiller. NO fish, just lots of SPS wih a few LPS. No chemically softies.

Current Aquarium(s) Description: 120 Gallon Reef tank with drilled back and side walls, with lots and lots of circulation (40 X)
Experience in Saltwater & Reef Aquarium Hobby: 35 years in marine aquarium trade and managing LFS's, 10 years with coral.
Other Intrests: Chemistry, Cabinetry and Fine Women
