Cool Deal or No Deal

65g 48x18x17 used tank for $40. Comes with crappy lights and prob the plastic top. I dunno if I like those dimensions and I'd need to get a stand, but the price is nice and low. I haven't seen a picture so I can't tell what the condition is. I was hoping to find a 2nd 46g bow that I could put a snowflake eel in and maybe another predator fish or two. What you think I should do?

Current Aquarium(s) Description: 46g bow front
Experience in Saltwater & Reef Aquarium Hobby: 4.5 months saltwater, 2 years freshwater
Other Intrests: Tennis, Video games, Working out, Drinking, Movies

Re: Deal or No Deal

If I eventually get a 220 or larger tank will a 65g sump be large enough?

Re: Deal or No Deal

I found out that the tank was used to hold plants as a terrium. Would the chemicals used have any effect on the tank in the future?

Re: Deal or No Deal

you could always give it a good scrubbing and use vinegar to clean it

Re: Deal or No Deal

if i picked it up it would be for sump reasons not for wasting money on another small setup ( not that it would be a waste ) it would be cool, but you already have the 46 so i would aim high and maybe use it as a sump

Current Aquarium(s) Description: 180 gallon allglass, 30 gallon sump, coralife super skimmer, and 80 gal
Experience in Saltwater & Reef Aquarium Hobby: circa 300 BC
Other Intrests: motorcycle riding

Re: Deal or No Deal

I'd use it as a sump too, that'd be a really good sized sump. I don't think the fact that it was used as a terrarium would make it unusable for SW. Just clean it well.
