Re: going camping

Wow, I can not even dream that good. Do people actually buy and use things like that? That is at least a $500 tire on that camper, think what the whole package costs. I go camping with an old army sleeping bag and a piece of visqueen. Food is easy in Alaska though. Few people bring any except for providing for the children. Least my kids never liked fresh caught Dolly Varden, Greyling or even Salmon. They thought I was nuts when I told them we were going to eat a Porcupine. Just got to put them in a fire for a few minutes to get rid of the quills so you can gut them. Tastes like pork. Now Beaver tail, that is good eatting.

Re: going camping

No we have spruce hens and Ptarmigan that tastes like chicken. One has white meat for breasts the other has dark meat. Just pull their breast off and throw the rest away. The squirrels up here take a half a dozen to make a meal. You can walk up to within about 10 feet of the spruce hens and Ptarmigan and they just stand dead still and pretend they are not looking at you. Then the Ptarmigan will run in little circles and pretend its has a broken wing to get you to notice it and avoid its chicks where ever they might be. Gives you enough time that you could probably throw rocks at them instead of shooting them. The spruce hen will fly to the the nearest spruce tree even if it is only five feet away. A person would have to pretty lame to go hungry in Alaska.

I visited Alaska a few years back. Did some fishing and caught some of the best salmon iv ever had. Also had some realllly good moose.
