Re: The Hobby and the economy

Yeah, my first tank was a "complete 55-gallon set-up" from Walmart. Complete my ass! I ended up only using the tank and stand. There's no way I can add up how much I've spent on my tank/s over the year, and there's no way I'd want to know either! But this is one of those hobbies where once the ball starts rolling, you can't seem to stop it unless you just get rid of the tank! And like so many have found out, many people just end up missing it too much and buying another one a few months down the road anyways.

This hobby is affordable if one builds their system slowly. Most notable on this site for taking their time and researching and waiting for good deals to buy are RyanG and RayRay (shout out!). Those two amaze me with their patience!!!! If you spread your purchases out, it doesn't have to break the bank, but I couldn't take waiting months to get all my stuff together!!!

Re: The Hobby and the economy

Biff dont be amazed at my patience, be amazed at my desire to get into this hobby with lack of funds for new stuff, lol. Believe me if I wouldve had the cash on hand to drop the day I wanted to get into reefing I would have. But on the upside my liver has been thanking me Ive pretty much quit drinking to fund my newfound hobby. AND THATS A GOOD THING!
