Re: school

Hey congrats!!! Info Systems is a great field. The more education in the field the more opportunities you should have to do what you enjoy. Of course, I think all of us in Info Tech must be a bit off-balanced to enjoy it .

Enjoy the break.

Re: school

Ouch algorithms. Mechanical logic. I prefer stoichiometric equations, and mass balance equations, but most people hate them. It is good though when we can incorporate what we like into making a good living. I am glad you found some thing you like that is something that will provide well for you and yours. Never stop learning. I would go to school part time all the rest of my life if possible.

Re: school

Networking can be a lot of fun, not too mention the decent living you can make in it. Any particular area that you have an interest it? A lot of people who go into security go toward VPNs and firewalls, but you could also work toward a CCSP (Cisco Certified Security Specialist) or a SANS certification in security. The security end tends to do more with creating policies for management approval or performing network penetration tests. Both areas can be very challenging, but you'll never get bored.

Good luck with whatever direction you go in. Every field has it's challenges, but I think you chose a good field for a career.
