Re: Liveaquaria horror story!
wow. that sucks. I guess no one is perfect. I suppose it is a risk you take ordering such an expensive fish. For myself, I wouldn't order a fish that expensive unless I could easily afford to lose it and not bat an eye lash. Hope he didn't spend his kids college education to get it!

Re: Liveaquaria horror story!
yes but if i was drfoster and smith i think that i would want proof that the fish was dead really how many people may buy one and then call them and say it is dead.

Re: Liveaquaria horror story!
Poor guy. I really feel bad for him. But doc is right. I would only buy a fish that expensive when i have my two porsches and 3 Ferraris parked in the garage.

Re: Liveaquaria horror story!
I feel for the guy, but you have to look at it from a business perspective. There are those who will try to get something for nothing and the business has to balance customer service with protecting itself from fraud or it won't be in business very long.

Re: Liveaquaria horror story!
I see both points and he should have sent it back or called them IMMEDIATLY after seeing the water at almost 90*. If i were LA I wouldnt refund him without a body because that is a big loss either way. I think they will lose alot of business if they dont refund it, cuz i know i wont order from them, and I bet thousands will do the same. thats alot of money loss. alot more than 2k

Re: Liveaquaria horror story!
If I was going to buy a fish that expensive(which I aint)I'd have to see it alive and swimming before I ever handed any money over.
Thats also the reason I dont buy livestock online.Cant afford to.

Re: Liveaquaria horror story!
Liveaquaria is in a tough spot. I am sure they have had several cases before where someone buys an expensive fish and sells it to someone. They tell Liveaquaria that it died and can't be found and then Liveaquaria sends them a replacement.
He does have pictures so he should send them to help prove the conditions of the fish on arrival. Re: Liveaquaria horror story!
For one he should of called LA right away and let them know how the fish arrived. Two he should of put it in a QT tank knowing what shape it was in. The way I look at it if he would of called they would of told him then that they would need the body. So both parties should take blame. Give him half his money back. I always order from them and still will. Because who in their right mind would order a fish that expensive without calling and asking question before they did. Plus was he home when it was delivered? Plus the hot summer is a bad time to order fish on line.
