Re: Awesome Tank

Thats what I thought too. But thats all he says. These guys are some plywood loving dudes. They have built a bunch of them. Also have their own marine product line "Perfect Ocean" available at www.thesurgezone.com They do salt(own blend exactly the same every batch) carbon and peletized GFO. Not advertising for them at all just letting people know. Im going to be using Kent E's salt when I use up what I have already purchased.

Re: Awesome Tank

I want a surge tank!!! Thats AWESOME!!!

Think I can do it on my little 30g? I can drop about 2g of water before the refugium pump is out of the water. I wonder what a 2g surge would look like on my tank?

The question is HOW to do it? I guess I could use the toilet bowl stopper and a 3g bucket. I'd want an overflow pipe that drains directly back into the tank in the even the toilet stopper failed to release.

HIJACK!!!

Re: Awesome Tank

My dream tank would be that an entire wall of my house would be a saltwater reef, but then, if I could afford that kind of tank I would hopefully be able to afford to pay people to help me maintain it....

Re: Awesome Tank

Wander how an empty 5 gallon salt bucket would work.
I may just have to try one on the 75.Worst that could happen is 5 gallon of salt water in the carpet.
