Re: Took the chance!!!

I have a question. I have been trying to feed it shrimp and it wont eat or I havnt seen it eat. I did feed it a piece a couple days ago and it disapeared but I didnt see it eat, its tentacles are bubble shaped just during the day and read when there like that there full. Another question is, are there arms supposed to be sticky? My bta's arms dont fell sticky at all to me, is this normal? I dont think it is, but just cant remember. He's been looking good, and I think has found his spot he likes, also the clown has been near him and rubbing against him alot, he wont really leave him alone these last two days or so. So is non stick arms mean these types of anemones are sick? And is it normal for them to not eat right away?

Re: Took the chance!!!

If they are shriveled up it can mean they are full. Their tentacles won't grab the food if they are not hungry. You just got him so I'd give him a little while to adjust, he will be fine without you feeding him for a bit, especially if he just ate a couple days ago.

Bobby
The only time ive ever noticed my BTA being sticky is when its hungry. The nemocycsts are what makes it feel sticky,it means their fireing trying to catch food.
Just relax and watch it,enjoy it.

Re: Took the chance!!!

I am enjoying it I'm just worried that since it got hurt it might be worse off than I think. It also climbed between two rocks were it couldnt get any light and stayed there for two days, so I fliped the rock over and now it moved to the bottom or the rock, were only half of it gets light. I just hope he'll be ok, I want to buy another one but I want to make shure this one will be ok first. I'm going for a visit up north soon and found someone with 2 rbta's for sale for 30.00 each and want one but want to make sure this one is ok first.

Re: Took the chance!!!

My BTA found itself a rock to crawl under the day I brought it home.It opens up with just half sticking out in the light.I think they like to have their foot hid inside the rock work to protect it.I think being under the rocks also make them feel safer.
It'll come out to get enough light when it needs too.Just give it time to adjust.
Think of it like this how would you feel if somebody dropped you in a plastic bag, took yoou to a new place and poured you out into this strange place.
