Re: Japanesse Dragon Eel how reef safe is it?!?!
I personally don't consider any eel reef safe.
Most reefs are made up of small invertebrates shrimp, etc. and smaller fish. All of which are viewed as food for an eel. Re: Japanesse Dragon Eel how reef safe is it?!?!
In your particular setup it might work then, but the common reef setup isn't composed of fish as large as yours.
Let us know how it all works out. Current Aquarium(s) Description: 92 Gallon Corner, 77 degrees, 800 watts, MR-2R Skimmer, MRC Nilsen, Tunze Stream, Aqua Cont Jr. Experience in Saltwater & Reef Aquarium Hobby: 6 years |

Re: Japanesse Dragon Eel how reef safe is it?!?!
The Dragon moray is a fish eater and will ingest anything that can fit into its expandable jaws. Keep singly except in mated pairs. Prone to escaping from open tanks. My best opinion on mixing two different eels is risky at best. not to say you cant do it with plenty of room and hiding places. Is a 500g system big enough? well maybe, maybe not. I would think not long term. only my two cents. Others will probably weigh in here. good luck. your inquiry posses an interesting thought. keep us posted.
