yeah he came like that from the fs I tought it was the coloration cause as you can see the bottom gills are also dark purple

Goodluck, I don't have any experience with the 2nd coral pictured, but the xenia I have, I got a small piece from my friends dad after I started my tank, maybe 5 months ago, its literally 15x the size now, and thats after ripping about 5x more than I got out of the tank and throwing it in the mantis tank for it to just take over...
