it is true, Alexander has it right on. Curing the needle makes all the difference. Maybe that is why they don't seem to work for people?

fill the hydrometer full and let it sit for 24 hours full of salt water and then dump it out and rinse it with RO water and you are "seasoned"

anyone know anything about the refractometer Dr. Foster has available for $41.95? I was thinking of using my $25 credit towards one.

dunno about the case but the handle appears to be blue.
