typically you want to avoid putting the more noxious leathers in with SPS as the chemical warfare can stunt their growth. I think buttons and mushrooms are OK. I guess add softies with caution and not to dominate the tank

Green star polyps, zoanthids, mushrooms and softies are all believed to be especially noxious. Which is why hard core SPS-ers keep SPS only. I think I'd get pretty bored with SPS only (that crap NEVER grows or does anything!) so I have a mixed reef myself.

A good rule of thumb is that if you have something noxious, don't put any sensitive corals down flow from it.
