I would suggest getting some turbo snails or hermits. They both do pretty good at removing algae. After I set up my little 30gal (about 3 weeks) I put in some turbo's because I had a whole shit load of algae and the snails pretty much took care of it and after it finished its cycle I started to get a whole bunch of coralline.
