sump???

sump???

ok i wanna use a sump on my new tank, but i am unsure of how to make one install and use one, the thing that really confusedes me is the pumps.

can someone recommond a site or have plans to make a sump???

You only need one pump, and that's the return pump. It returns the water from the sump back to the tank. It'll be plumbed with PVC.

If your tank is not drilled, you will need to buy an overflow box. Lifereef and CPR both make good quality overflow boxes. The overflow box works as a siphon and draws water out of your display tank, down to the sump (also plumbed with PVC). I know there are a few people on here with good drawings, hopefully they'll chime in.

Most of Melev's sumps are acrylic made.There's no stopping you from using an existing tank and putting baffles in from some of his simpler sump designs.
