Re: Dealing with Phosphates?

I use GFO (granular ferric oxide) from bulkreefsupply.com. I run it in a ViaAqua Poly-Reactor.

Re: Dealing with Phosphates?

Use ferric oxide in a phosphate reactor so you can have a much longer contact time. The sponges are practically useless so I've read, never use them.

Re: Dealing with Phosphates?

The Two Little Fishes reactor is the one that I use and is also fairly cheap.

Re: Dealing with Phosphates?

A reactor is a good, inexpensive investment for a phosphate problem. I bought the Kent model and in a very short time the phosphate readings went to zero.

Like McCrary, I have the Two Little Fishies reactor. It seems to work fine.

Yeah, it works great. I like it cause it came with all the hoses, connectors, valve and pump and was pretty much the same price as the Phosban reactor.
