How big is my new tank
I assumed it was a 40 or 45, because thats how much water it took filling up. Now I left a good inch from the top. The question is, when I use the online calculators, it comes in at a 50g tank. The measurements are 36X16X21. What is it?

(length" x width" x height") / 231 cu in = # gallons
(36" x 16" x 21") / 231 cu in = 52.36 gallons Assume it is an unconventional 55 gallon tank. You do not state whether the measurements are the inside or outside of the tank. The above calculations assume they are inside measurements. Current Aquarium(s) Description: 120g SPS Mother Colony Tank, 40 g sump, back wall overflows, 2 closed loop circulation circuits 59X Experience in Saltwater & Reef Aquarium Hobby: 35 years in marine aquarium trade and managing LFS's, 10 years with coral. Other Intrests: Coral Propagation, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Cabinetry, and Reef Systems Development

Flip of a coin as it is an unconventional size. Meaning no longer mass produced in that size by the major manafacturers.
