Re: Lobster care

What type of lobster is it? A reef lobster (like a purple lobster) or a regular food lobster?

Re: Lobster care

It would be just a lobster that you would get at the store.

Re: Lobster care

I have never seen lobsters at the store be very active. I am guessing you would need a larger tank. At restaurants they just cram them in because they aren't in there very long.

Re: Lobster care

I really dont think that you would have good success with a coldwater lobster. It would be very difficult to keep the water cold enough for them. If you like similar creatures maybe a blue reef lobster would be up your alley but I dont think that a 12 gal nano would be suitable for it either, sorry. Another option for a similar type of animal would be a Mantis shrimp and the 12 nano would be a great species tank for one of those cool little demons. You just wont be able to keep much else with it other than his food they are nasty little predators.

Re: Lobster care

Yeah, a 12 gallon tank wouldn't be large enough for a lobster. How would you keep the water that cold anyways, would a chiller even work that cold?

I'm usually a pretty good googler. But I could not find one thing online that talked about how to keep a lobster for anything else than eating! Sorry...
